New Listings for this Lady!
I have been having a lot of fun staying super busy with my shop. I have created some new designs on my own as well as helped to design custom pieces for my customers special events. One that I am really excited about it my new line of flower girl dresses (below) that I created with a customer for her wedding! I also made a matching mother/daughter set of dresses for a vow renewal ceremony. The neatest thing that I have not done before was to sew in a special piece of jewelry that the bride had on her wedding day. I thought that idea was really neat and very unique! I also made some milestones in my shop this week with making it to 300 sales. I am now at 303, and looking forward to many more customers trusting my artistic hand to their style. My personal goal for the month of September is to have 215 items in my shop. I am currently at 181 items, so I am making my way there. Here are some new items I have added below. To check them out in my shop, click on the pictures.
That is it for now! Have a sweet day! Is there anything else you would like to see offered in Sweet Home Boutique?

New Fall Line!
Last Sunday was interesting. I was feeling horrible, but decided to go to church anyway because I thought getting out and about would make me feel better. After walking out halfway through service to go warm my chilled skin in the sun outside I decided I needed to go to the ER. At the ER to my surprise they diagnosed me with pneumonia! I never usually get sick, and when I do it's pneumonia! My body does not mess around when it get's sick..ha ha. After spending several days in bed, I eventually got up and started slowly back to sewing up new items. I have so many ideas in store, but here is what I came up with so far. A polka dot dress for women, a red bird dress, Christmas dress, and adorable corduroy shaw jacket for girls! I am really in love with that style and will also be adding it in women's sizes as well. Here you go, tell me what you think?

Fall is Coming!
Fall is coming so I am getting ready. Usually the southern heat makes me very ready for the mild temperatures of fall. Even though I homeschool this time of year bring back so many memories of being a child and starting fresh. It was a new season, and a new school year. The temperature was dropping and the leaves started to die and fall to the ground. I can still smell the aroma of jumping into a huge pile of leaves as a child. Fall inspires me as a time of gathering, hope, and refreshment. So, to get things ready for this wonderful season I added some festive fall fashion to my shop for children.

Homeschool Crafts for Kids!
Besides crafting for my shop I also craft for my day job, homeschooling. We are studying the earth and are going to be doing an experiment with the layers of the earth. The materials called for 3 colors of play dough red, green, and blue. Since our store bought play dough is all mixed together and crusty I pulled out this fabulous play dough recipe that I got awhile ago on Pintrest. It is very easy to do and the thing that takes the most time is getting together the supplies. You probably have most supplies already in the house except cream of tarter. Cream of tarter can be found in the spice section at your local grocery store. We also found something to do with our old broken crayons! I had my children take off the wrappers and break them up into little pieces. After that we melted them in little heart shape cookie molds. The result was cool multicolor heart shape crayons. This was also another Pintrest idea!

Unicorns and Zebra.
Things are getting settled here at home again after our trip to Ohio last week. Most of the children in the neighborhood are starting school next week, and I have pretty much started homeschool with my children as well. I gave them each a list of new hats I am making and let them pick which one they wanted to claim for their own (I give them the samples). My 6 year old daughter wanted the unicorn. I finished it today and listed it in my shop. Here is my oldest modeling it for her. She brought her Native American flute with her. Normally I tell them to put their props away for pictures for the shop, but I actually think the flute worked for the unicorn. What do you think?

I did whip up this snazzy aqua and orange granny square blanket for my son as well. I have since added an aqua border which evens things up a bit. I need to update the pictures of it in my shop. I added a new style to my granny squares by crocheting them together in sets of 3. I like this a lot better, and it lays very flat. I think I will be doing this on my granny squares from now on.

Afghan Marathon.
I just recently reopened after a bit of a break from my shop. Before I opened up I felt inspired to make everyone in my extended family afghans. The nice thing is that I can make gifts for them, and snap some pictures and list it in my shop as well. We just recently took a trip to Ohio from South Carolina with our travel trailer and five cute children. I was the passenger seat warmer and got some of these afghans made and or finished on our trip. I am also making several new hats to add to my shop for the upcoming fall and winter season. This includes elf, zebra, apple, pumpkins, unicorns and more. I am always so grateful for the privilege of selling things on Etsy. Here are some of my new listings!

Orange and blue afghan I made for my nephew. These colors were his request, and this blanket has already been featured on a fall football treasury on Etsy
This was for my mom. It is hard to see in this photo, but the colors are teal and burgundy. Both of these colors remind me of the dangly earrings my mom use to wear when we were children.
Here was my set up in the car for most of the ride. I can't wait to list the afghan I am making for my 3 year old son with these colors.

Happy Memorial Day!!!
Can I just say that I love my new neighborhood! We were able to get together today for Memorial Day and let our kids play while the adults got to visit and grill out. It reminds me a bit of get togethers on Little House on the Prairie which to me is pretty awesome!! I am so grateful for all who have served and are currently serving including my hard working Husband who serves in the U.S Navy. His dedication to his job and the uniform makes me so proud to be his wife! So, while my dear husband is away at work serving our country, I stay home and teach my babies and make lots of cool clothes for Sweet Home Boutique. Here is one of my new items, a sweet summer cherry dress available in size XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, and XXXL in my shop!
