New little lady dresses.. and a shrug

I listed 2 new dresses today in Sweet Home Boutique. I have already made these dresses for my own girls, but I got so many compliments on them I decided to list them in my shop...I have tried many different patterns for my girls, but always go back to the peasant dress because it is so comfortable and easy to wear (no zippers, buttons, ties. etc.)

When we were in Virginia Beach VA this summer we lived right beside a Johannes Fabric...It was basically a dream come true to live beside an amazing fabric store so before I left I picked up several fabrics including the fabric shown in this dress.

You can check out this dress in my Etsy shop here

I also added this dress with Oh Deer fabric by Moda...I think it is so gorgeous. It again is a peasant style, but with a complete elastic waistline as opposed to it just on the back.

It also has a pretty red band on the bottom with darker red trees.
You can find this Moda dress in my Etsy shop here

Yesterday I got this listing up. I have made several of these for my daughters and have received a ton of compliments on them.

My girls wore these all summer over their little tank tops and they complimented every outfit so well. You can also see the Shrug in my shop here

Baby Things And The Sweet Home behind Sweet Home Boutique

Hello Beautiful people!

This week I have decided to put some of my clothing back in my shop as opposed to just simply crochet items. I am very excited about that, and I am even more excited about new ideas I have for clothing creations!! Something I am going to be working on next is mother/daughter Christmas dresses, using Michael Miller damask print in red. THAT will be so pretty.

I am back on Etsy after a one year baby break!

Just wanted to say Heeeeelllllloooooo out there. I am back!! My 5th son was born in March, and I have slowly started to add things back to my Etsy shop. I was very successful with my clothing shop, but my interests and availability has changed over the last year. As much as I love to sew, I also love to crochet.  My new shop is filling up with crochet animal hats, knight hats, sweaters and more. This allows me the flexability to work no matter where I am...I can just take my project and orders with me.
Here are some of my new listings!

More happy knit!

Today I listed this sweater knit dress in sage...

I really like this dress, and think it wouldd be great to wear to church, work or everyday. I like this design, but will alter it the next time by taking out the drape, and shortening it to tunic length. Also in new colors such as cloud blue, grass green, and burgundy.
On another note, I absolutely love this spot in my yard where my dear husband takes pictures for me. Our house backs up to the woods, and this is the fence on the back side of our yard. Today the first hints of fall came through in the gentle breeze blowing on us, as we took these. As he takes these I can also admire the wildflowers, and morning glory vines growing up the trees in the forest. That is true inspiration.
On a personal note I am now 3 months pregnant with sweet baby #5!

Works in progress....

Sitting here watching TLC and finishing up an order. My whole family is sleeping, and my husband has to get up soon to go in for the night shift. This is usually my time where I get a lot of work done. When I was pregnant with my first a mother I respected told me to make your children's bedtime 7:30pm from the beginning. I think this is one of the best advice I ever took. I always use this time after they go to bed to do things I that love, which is now working on my orders for my shop.

Here is what I am working on

My retro red check ruffle dress, headed out to the beautiful Australia!
You can see this dress in my shop here

We live in a rural town here in the South, so the nearest fabric shop is about a 45 minute drive.  Because of that I order most of my fabric on-line. It does not always turn out to be the fabric that I hoped it was. This flannel fabric I ordered awhile ago. It again, is not totally what I had hoped for, but I now know that I am going to use it for lining for corduroy pea coats, of red, and navy.
